Village Programme

Primary School:

Many of our expatriate students spend some time in the village with their families while their parents are working on translation and/or literacy tasks.  The Primary Campus Village Programme is designed to assist parents as they teach their children in the village setting.

Because we are aware of the difficulties associated with living and working in a village, generally only Mathematics, Reading, and Language Arts materials are sent for each student. The teacher also sends an instructional outline that reflects the course of study for that particular term. The outline allows the parent to follow what is going on in the classroom and keep to the school schedule so that the child is prepared to re-enter the classroom when he or she returns to Ukarumpa.

Middle School:

Remote Learning Option

If families with middle school children wish to take those children to the village during a school term, UIS provides a Remote Learning Option (RLO) that allows them to do so. This program is somewhat more limited than the Village Programme, but allows middle school students to be with the parents in the village. Parents should check with the school for details.
