Village Programme
Primary School:
Many of our expatriate students spend some time in the village with their families while their parents are working on translation and/or literacy tasks. The Primary Campus Village Programme is designed to assist parents as they teach their children in the village setting.
Because we are aware of the difficulties associated with living and working in a village, generally only Mathematics, Reading, and Language Arts materials will be sent with each student. The teacher will also send an instructional outline that reflects the course of study for that particular term. These outlines allow the parent to follow what is going on in the classroom and keep to the classroom schedule so that the child is prepared to re-enter the classroom when he or she returns to Ukarumpa.
All applicable materials are sent with the family out to the village. Library books may be checked out and taken to the village as well.
Middle School:
Remote Learning Option
If families with middle school children wish to take those children to the village during a school term, we provide the Remote Learning Option that allows them to do so. This program is somewhat more limited than the Village Programme, and parents should check with the school for details.
