External Testing
UIS students take the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test annually beginning in Kindergarten. MAP is scored on a continual scale throughout the grade levels, providing easy-to-track growth and achievement throughout the years. MAP is a computer-based, adaptive test, meaning the questions vary in difficulty as the test seeks to hone in on exactly what the student has mastered and is ready to learn.
UIS is also a testing site for university entrance exams including the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT-NMSQT), the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and the ACT. We also offer Advanced Placement exams for UIS students enrolled in AP courses.
If you are not a UIS student, but wish to take the SAT or ACT at our location, please check with College Board or ACT for available testing dates and registration and payment information.
UIS facilitates the registration of enrolled Papua New Guinean students for the PNG Department of Education’s Grade 8, 10, and 12 Exams.
